Journey
Regopotse Marabe, known professionally as Rio Dinerro, is a rising South African music producer and composer who has become a key architect of the modern Amapiano and Sgija scenes. Hailing from Pretoria (Pitori), her career is defined by a technical, percussion-heavy production style that has earned her a prominent place within the "New Wave" of South African dance music.
Rio Dinerro first gained significant mainstream attention through her frequent collaborations with the acclaimed production duo ShaunMusiQ & Ftears. Her breakthrough came with the release of the "BYE BYE EP" in October 2024, a collaborative project with vocalist Babygirlmint. The EP, distributed via Sony Music Entertainment Africa, featured hits like the title track "Bye Bye" and "Siyathandana," showcasing her ability to merge atmospheric melodies with the gritty, syncopated log-drum patterns characteristic of the Sgija sub-genre.
Continuing her momentum into 2025, Marabe released her solo project, "Shades Of Me - EP." This project further solidified her industry standing, featuring major collaborations with heavyweights such as Scotts Maphuma, LeeMckrazy, and MaWhoo. Her work on the 2025 single "Nguye Lona" and the club track "Kushu Kushu" highlights her evolution from a background producer to a lead artist capable of crafting rhythm-driven hits. As a producer under the Kgaday (Pty) Ltd label, Rio Dinerro remains a vital influence in the Pretoria sound, consistently pushing the boundaries of Amapiano for a global audience.
